These sleeper trains will have modern amenities such as interconnected automatic doors, enhanced soundproofing, sensor-based lighting, and mini pantries in each coach.

The Indian Railways intends to roll out the Vande Bharat “sleeper trains” this year.

This will likely involve adding more amenities for passengers on these trains and possibly starting a service between Secunderabad and Pune.

The long-distance travel comfort and speed will be greatly improved by the planned Vande Bharat sleeper trains. As per India.com, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) are manufacturing these new trains, which are scheduled to launch later this year.

Moreover, the modern amenities on these sleeper trains will include sensor-based lighting, better soundproofing, automatic doors that communicate with one another, and little pantries in each coach. They will also have wheelchair-accessible sleepers, comfy bunk beds, and bathrooms with anti-spill washbasins and odour control systems.

The Vande Bharat trains are a part of Indian Railways larger initiative to increase the number of semi-high-speed train services offered around the nation to improve passenger comfort and shorten travel times.

The new sleeper train service in Secunderabad is part of a larger plan to modernise and increase the Vande Bharat fleet, providing long-distance travellers with a more pleasant and effective mode of transportation.

The current Shatabdi Express on the same route, which takes roughly 8 hours and 25 minutes to complete, could be replaced with the Secunderabad-Pune Vande Bharat sleeper, with passengers arriving at their destinations at least an hour early.

The schedule and stops for the Secunderabad-Pune Vande Bharat sleeper train have not yet been determined, as the railways are currently finalising preparations for the much-anticipated Vande Bharat sleeper train launch.

According to officials, the exact timetable and stops for the new service have not yet been decided. As soon as the service is launched, these will be made public, the officials added.

There are currently five Vande Bharat trains that operate in the SCR jurisdiction: Vijayawada – MGR Chennai Central; Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam; Secunderabad – Tirupati; and Kacheguda – Yesvantpur (Hyderabad – Bengaluru). With over 100 per cent of passengers, these trains are operating successfully.

Previous reports have stated that the Indian Railways intends to introduce the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, which will progressively replace the Rajdhani Express—the nation’s flagship sleeper train—in a phased manner.
